About Hypnotherapy.

What is Hypnosis ?

Healing through trance state is not a new phenomenon; in fact it has been around for thousands of years - Hypnos is simply the Greek word for sleep. What it may surprise you to know is that every single one of us experiences some level of trance each day in our waking lives (whether we realise it or not) when we daydream, or ‘tune out’ from the real world for a few moments just to allow our minds to clear. Therapeutically, trance can be attained unaided (self-hypnosis) or with the help of another person allowing our conscious minds to take a break from ‘doing all the driving’. With the subconscious now taking the lead, beneficial change can be encouraged and quickly embedded. This is Hypnotherapy.

A bit more about Hypnotherapy.

Many of the techniques a clinical hypnotherapist will use will be similar to any other councillor or Psychological Therapist. The added benefit of Hypnotherapy is that clients experience the benefits of working with their subconscious in a state of total mental and physical relaxation. Following their first hypnotherapy session many clients describe feeling as though they’ve had the best sleep of their lives and are ready to take on any new challenge. Our minds are amazing computers, but they are also actually pretty simple machines once we forget about all the influences of the outside world. Hypnotherapy works directly with the subconscious mind to bring about personal development, often at a great pace. It is amazing what everyone of us can achieve when we allow ourselves to put our minds to it and hypnotherapy has been proven to be of benefit in all the areas Phil specialises in at Headology Hypnotherapy.

Finding the right therapist for you.

Seeking any sort of help can be a daunting prospect for most people. This is why Headology Hypnotherapy offers a free consultation in a relaxed atmosphere. Whatever you would like to discuss, please contact Phil either by phone or through our email messaging service for a callback. You can be assured of a caring, professional and ethical approach.

Myth-busting.

Clinical Hypnotherapy is not the same as stage hypnosis. When working with a professional hypnotherapist, you will be in control of your actions and aware of your surroundings at all times, completely able to communicate and show your usual range of emotions. As a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), Phil abides by a strict code of ethics, as well as maintaining his own professional approach at all times.
